AUS Ltd Knowledge Transfer Partnerships in Engineering
Investing and trusting in youth has always been a cornerstone of AUS philosophy. Apprenticeship schemes are a huge part of our culture and our innovation team is no different. Our team has been built largely through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) with the University of Huddersfield. A KTP sees a three-way relationship develop between a company, a university, and a post graduate student. This relationship is mutually beneficial to all, with the company gaining access to university resources as well as having the student working with them over the course of the KTP. The University gains functioning relationships with local businesses, and the student gains real life work experience in the industry.
Two of the current team were introduced to AUS through KTPs, whilst the rest have completed placement terms whilst studying at university and are now with us in a professional capacity after completing their degrees .The placements take place as a sandwich year between second and third years of their course. Gaining industry experience alongside studying allows students to gain a greater understanding of the real-life application of theoretical skills learnt at university, setting them up for success in their final year. We love to place trust in the energy and tenacity of young professionals who are eager to learn and develop their own skills. Partnered with industry professionals, universities and engineers, our young innovators are determined to improve the world we work in.
