Winter brings with it many special hazards including cold temperatures and periods of foul weather. With the weather turning cold, now is a good time to remind ourselves about winter weather hazards and precautions.
Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. recently achieved a significant safety milestone by passing five consecutive years without a lost workday injury case. Osmose services include the inspection and restoration of utility poles and T&D system infrastructure for utility companies throughout North America. Osmose personnel also provide storm recovery services, helping utilities respond to damage caused by hurricanes, tornados, ice storms, wildfires and other natural disasters. Despite the hazards often associated with such work, Osmose employees have logged more than 13 million safe work hours in the past five years!
The culture at Osmose centers on performing quality work safely. Osmose Safety Director, Bob Bleech said, "Our goal is to prevent all injuries, and we'll continue working toward that goal by focusing on properly training new employees and providing continued safety education for existing employees."
